St. Joseph County Health Department warns of possible measles exposure at eclipse viewing

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — The St. Joseph County Health Department is warning residents of a possible measles exposure.

The department says anyone that went to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis on April 8 to view the total solar eclipse may have been exposed to someone with measles.

Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that can be serious, especially for children who are unvaccinated.

There are no confirmed cases of measles in St. Joseph County.

Health officials say anyone who may have been exposed should look for symptoms ranging from a fever, cough, pink eye, tiny white spots in the mouth, or a rash.
