BMW's latest G60 5-Series has launched, and so too has its configurator for the UK and Europe. While we'll let our article on the G60 reveal fill you in on all the nitty gritty details, it's time to play around and come up with the most outrageously expensive 2024 5er money can buy.

In Europe, the 2024 ICE 5-Series will only be available in four-cylinder form, that is, until a PHEV is launched in Spring 2024. The U.S. market six-cylinder 540i xDrive mild-hybrid is absent from the lineup, with those across the pond having to make do with a detuned petrol 520i or, in some markets, a diesel 520d. Those wanting more poke from their Euro 5er will have to wait for the 530e and 550e xDrive plug-in hybrid models.

On the German configurator, you can get a petrol-powered G60 without the M-Sport gubbins if you so please, whereas, in the UK, you'll have to live with the M go-faster bits whether you like it or not. Standard equipment includes LED headlights, BMW's new curved display with BMW OS 8.5, and Driving Assistant.

Some optional extras across both i5 and ICE 5 include BMW Individual frozen paint options for €3750, a €770 Bowers & Wilkins sound system, a €1630 panoramic glass sunroof, and control buttons (including the iDrive controller, volume control, and start/stop button) made out of fine crystal for €610.

With virtually all options ticked, we managed to get the 520i to €83,000 (approximately $89,250) on the German configurator and £73,000 ($90,147) on the UK.

On the i5 side of things, we managed to inflate the price of the M60 xDrive to £115,000 ($142,013) in the UK and €126,000 in Germany — roughly $135,000.

You can have a go at creating your own outrageously expensive 5-Series on the UK site here or the German site here, and be sure to let us know what you come up with in the comments below.
