Peoria's newest Culver's is set to open just in time for Memorial Day.

The North Peoria business is Mike and Michele Davis' third Culver's location. While both he and his wife will be present opening day, Mike Davis said he wants the focus to be on employees and guests.

"I don't need a big ribbon to cut. I don't need too much other than make it special for the team and for the guests as they come in," Davis said. "So, we are going to open up and we are going to try and do things on day one the same that we are going to do on day 3,001."

'Put smiles on faces'

As construction has finished, Davis said people in the community have already begun stopping by to see if the restaurant was open as employees trained.

The North Peoria Culver's is around six miles away from the nearest Culver's locations. Davis said he hopes the North Peoria restaurant will become a favorite in the area.

"Our No. 1 goal is to put smiles on faces," Davis said. "It's a food industry, but we view it as we're in the people business. That's why I do this. I like interacting with the guests and the team and making some days."
