Seasonal allergies in full effect in Massachusetts

Original source (on modern site) | Article images: [1]

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - As we near the end of April, spring allergies are in full effect.

You are probably noticing that you are sneezing a lot more than usual and that is because tree pollen is almost at its peak. Birch, Ash, and Poplar pollen are high at the end of April, and this is the pollen that can make you sneeze and make your eyes water or have a burning feel to them.

Grass pollen is at its highest in May and June and weed pollen is highest in August.

Ways to mitigate yourself from being affected by pollen are to leave your windows closed in your car or house, wear sunglasses or a mask outside, and take a shower after being outside to get the pollen off.
