WWE has teased taking WrestleMania around the world before but now it seems that won't be happening anytime soon.

When Money In The Bank took place in London, England just a few weeks before AEW invaded the English capital for All In, John Cena stood in the ring and got the crowd whipped into a frenzy when he teased WrestleMania one day coming to the city. But it seems Cena's hopes as well as those in attendance might have been dashed.

Speaking at the SBJ World Congress of Sports, WWE President Nick Khan revealed that plans have been in place for "a few years" to have the company's big five events stick to North America while the other premium live events travel around the globe:

We sat down together a few years ago and decided, so the big five premium live events … should be in the United States or Canada. All of the other events, the goal is to have them from international locations.

It's over and over until we're back in the United States, I think, in October for one of our premium live events. There's a halo effect on those big deals. Merchandise sales, relevancy goes up, and who knows — is the next Yao Ming of that country watching [WWE] and wanting to do it in 10 years.

WWE Bringing Major Shows Around The Globe

Of the next six WWE premium live events, only one will be held in the USA. SummerSlam 2024 will emanate from Cleveland, Ohio, however, Money In The Bank returns to North America as it will be held in Toronto, Canada.

Backlash takes place in France in May, the month that also sees King & Queen of The Ring head to Saudi Arabia. June sees Clash at the Castle heading to Scotland and Bash in Berlin will take place in the German capital at the end of August.
