TRACKING: Accumulating snowfall tonight

Original source (on modern site)

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for most of Eastern Iowa tonight through early Sunday morning.

Tonight: Snow moves in this evening and may be heavy at times in our northern and eastern counties. Road conditions deteriorate as snow starts to stick and existing snow from last night may blow/drift into roads. Areas like Decorah, Elkader, and Dubuque may see 2-5 inches, whereas Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City may only get a trace to 2 inches. Breezy southwest winds shift out of the north at 10-20 mph. Low temperatures fall to the single digits but will rise early Sunday morning.

Sunday: Snow ends very early Sunday morning, leading to a partly cloudy day. South winds are at 5-10 mph. High temperatures warm to the teens.

Sunday Night: Another round of snow moves in late Sunday night through early Monday morning. This chance looks much lighter and about an inch or less. Low temperatures drop to the single digits.

Monday: We remain mostly cloudy to kick off another work week. Temperatures rise to the low 30s, before another Arctic front sweeps through in the evening and knocks down our temperatures. Flurries may be possible with the frontal passage. Lows that night fall to the single digits below zero.

Next Week: Highs remain in the single digits through the middle of the work week. We rebound to the mid 20s by the end of the work week.
