Total Solar Eclipse
This will be the last total solar eclipse visible from the U.S. until 2044.
They were selected to be part of a nationwide research project with the Southwest Research Institute. They'll capture images of the solar eclipse using telescopes as it crosses the United States.
"This is huge, HUGE! If we don't plan appropriately, A, we won't have workers. Or B, we'll have so many people on the streets that nobody can get to the events."
Laverne Biser has been chasing eclipses and taking photos of them since 1963.
The declaration will begin on April 5 and end on April 9.
