'Heartbroken to not be doing opening night here in Woking but it's never about watching me bump into things/people on stage. Off to rest! Enjoy the show folks.'

Catherine will be replaced by her understudy Oonagh.

It comes as Catherine recently thanked her husband Tom Pitfield for 'holding down the fort' while she tours the country to perform in the musical.

The couple are parents to son Alfie, nine, and two-year-old daughter Iris.

Sharing a sweet photo of her cuddling her daughter, she wrote: 'Baby Girl met momma at the train station and it was EVERYTHING.

'My family picked me up in Leeds because Manchester was another hour on the train and another hour apart… clinging on to every single second of these fleeting weekends.

'My heart is replenished for another week. Another shout out to my beautiful husband for being the most incredible daddy and holding the fort. And to my beautiful son Alfie who is the best big brother in the world. We've got this team.'

Catherine shares the role of Blanche with Hollyoaks and Holby City's Daisy Wood-Davis at certain venues.

EastEnders actor Danny Hatchard has made his musical theatre debut with the show alongside Heathers and Newsies star, Alex James-Hatton as the pair share the role of Clyde Barrow across the tour.
