There are no indications that Chelsea forward Kai Havertz will join former manager Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich despite the forward's recent admission, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Havertz's recent comments about Bayern and Tuchel have caught a lot of attention, mainly due to speculations over the possibility of his moving to back to Germany this summer.

"Bayern are generally a huge club that it's hard to say no to as a German player," the Chelsea star told Bild a few days ago.

"But my personal goal has always been to play abroad at some point. In England or Spain."

A report from Sky Germany claimed that Havertz is, for now, not on Bayern's summer shortlist, but many see his recent admission as a sign of his desire for a move to the Allianz Arena.

Romano has now played down these speculations.

"[There are] many stories after his interview with Bild podcast [in which he said] it is difficult to reject Bayern," the Italian journalist said on his YouTube channel.

"He said it [too] in 2020 and said it is still like this.

"He also said beautiful words about Thomas Tuchel and said never say never in football [when asked about potentially joining Bayern].

"What I can say is that Havertz is a very respectful guy, so from what I understand, he's only speaking in a very honest way.

"But at the moment, there are no contacts to bring Havertz to any other club, and in this case, Bayern.

"Let's see in the summer, but at the moment, Bayern and Chelsea are not speaking about Havertz, and [the player's] agents are not speaking about a potential transfer.

"It's way too early for that and Havertz was only mentioning his great relationship with Tuchel and his respect for Bayern.

"It's a different situation to Lukaku, and I see comparisons."
