There is a mammoth double boost for West Ham on the eve of the Saints clash after David Moyes' fears as video emerges from behind the scenes.

After three long weeks without a Premier League game, West Ham are now just 24 hours away from the huge relegation six-pointer against Southampton at the London Stadium.

And the stakes could not be much higher.

Win and West Ham can rise as high as 13th. Lose and the Hammers could end up replacing the Saints at the bottom of the table.

The game kicks off a do or die spell of nine games in 27 days for West Ham.

Just four points separate the nine clubs from 12th to 20th and at least 36 points is expected to be needed to survive.

West Ham were encouraged by news from the Southampton camp that they could be without at least three key first team stars for the match,

That includes the Saints' first-choice central defensive pairing and top scorer Che Adams.

The Hammers looked to have come through the international break unscathed with no injuries to the 11 senior players who joined up with their national sides.

But West Ham boss David Moyes delivered an extremely worrying update on £80m trio Nayef Aguerd, Gianluca Scamacca and Emerson in his pre-match presser.

Boss delivered unwelcome and unexpected news of major potential blow

The Scot says all three returned from international duty with issues stating Emerson is ill, Aguerd has a hip problem and Scamacca is feeling his knee again.

It was seriously worrying news indeed ahead of such an important game for West Ham.

While Scamacca has been an unused sub for the Hammers in the last four Premier League games, Aguerd and Emerson have been key and their absence would considerably weaken the side.

Last night West Ham's media team posted a video showing West Ham's players training before the big match.

And both Emerson and Aguerd featured in the video joining in the session without any visible issues.

You can almost hear the collective sigh of relief from West Ham fans.

Lukasz Fabianski and Vladimir Coufal - who have both been out with injury since the win over Nottingham Forest in February - were also in the footage.

As was striker Michail Antonio, who missed the win over AEK Larnaca last time out with a calf issue.
