Edward Wilson was detained and charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of Akeem Francis-Kerr at Valesha's nightclub last Saturday morning. West Midlands Police were called to Valesha's nightclub, also known as Colliseum, on Newport Street in the town centre just after 5am following reports that a man, known as 'Keemz', had been stabbed. He was pronounced dead at around 6am while on route to hospital. West Midlands Police said: 'We've kept Akeem's family updated with the latest developments as we continue to support them during this distressing time. Wilson, from Oldbury, has now been charged with murder and remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today, March, 18. Following the 29-year-old's death, friends flooded social media with tributes, writing about his 'humble nature and infectious smile' and that he was 'known by many and loved by all'. 'That infectious smile gone forever, always so polite and humble and respectful towards me,' one wrote. Another added: 'It's broken me to hear what's happened to Keemz. Rest in Paradise young king. Sending love and strength to his family and friends. 'Today is a sad day!! He's known by many and loved by all'. And another said: 'This one here broke my heart rip Keemz, my little Wolverhampton sweetheart. 'I honestly can't believe it I don't understand we literally was out together a few months ago....May you rest in paradise hunny.'
