Race Across the World is a Bafta-winning series about the kindness of strangers, outstanding natural beauty and the search for the hero inside yourself. Which is lovely and all that, but we also enjoy the bickering, don't we? I do anyway. And I thought Claudia, 27, was right to tell her father, Kevin, 53, to stop being so wet and put in more effort when they were trying to hitch a ride at a petrol station. "I'm trying to be low-key," he said. Yes, a famously winning tactic when trying to hitchhike. (Which is illegal from the roadside in parts of Canada, hence the gas station loitering.)

Father and daughter Kevin and Claudia are all smiles . . . for now
