Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Cristian Stellini has ruled Richarlison out of the Premier League meeting with Everton.

Speaking to football.london, the Spurs coach said the 25-year-old has a "problem" and is "not training" with the team.

Richarlison injured his calf in the opening minutes of Tottenham's 3-3 draw with Southampton.

This prompted fears over a long injury layoff.

Promising follow-up reports earlier this week suggested that Richarlison's injury is not serious.

The Evening Standard reported that the Spurs forward hopes he'll be back from injury after Monday's trip to Everton.

Meanwhile, Alasdair Gold said on his YouTube channel that Richarlison should be back "sooner rather than later".

The Tottenham ace wasn't expected to feature against his former side on Monday.

However, Stellini was not able to provide a timescale for the £175,000-a-week (Salarysport) man's return.

Indeed, when the Spurs coach talked about players who are "pushing to recover", he didn't name Richarlison.

"The players who are unavailable are players like Emerson, who had surgery," he told football.london.

"Bissouma is not ready to play, Bentancur obviously not for the season able to play.

"We have Richarlison with problem, he's not training with team.

"Ben Davies and Sessegnon are pushing to recover, they are not ready but pushing to recover as soon as possible."

Emerson Royal will reportedly be out for six weeks after undergoing surgery on a meniscus injury.

Left-backs Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon are also sidelined with hamstring injuries.

And midfielders Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma will not play again this season due to injury.

Difficult maiden season

Richarlison has experienced a lot of bad luck this season, both in front of goal and in terms of injuries.

In addition, Antonio Conte often played him out of position on the wings, so he had to adapt to that too.

Richarlison has, however, had plenty of promising moments that suggest he can be a great player for Spurs.

Hopefully his injury is not serious and he can kick on and finish a difficult season on a high.
