Two men have been rushed to hospital following a disturbance in the East End of Glasgow.

The 27-year-old and 16-year-old had come out from one of the premises on Duke Street, near Haghill Road, after hearing a disturbance outside about 10.30 pm.

When in the street, they were assaulted by three men and later taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

The 27-year-old remains in hospital for treatment, while the 16-year-old has been discharged.

At this time, there are no descriptions of the men responsible.

Detective Constable Jo Galea, Shettleston CID, said: "The motive of this attack has yet to be established.

"Officers have spoken to some of the people who came to the aid of the two men after the attack, however, we are still keen to hear from anyone who has not yet come forward, who was in the area at the time and saw the attack or has any information that may assist officers with their investigation.

"Duke Street is a busy area, especially with motor vehicles, so we'd also be keen to view any dash-cam footage from the street between 10.20 pm and 10.55 pm."
