Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham is reportedly 'willing' to sign for Liverpool but Man City are their 'biggest rivals' in the race for the teenager.

The battle to sign Bellingham is hotting up ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Clubs around Europe are interested in the 19-year-old, who has grown to become one of the best young players in the world.

Bellingham's decision to join Dortmund has borne fruit as they have afforded him the platform to shine in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

The centre-midfielder is not out of contract until 2025 but it looks likely that he will leave this summer. Liverpool, Man City and Real Madrid are best positioned to sign him later this year.

It was claimed earlier this week that Liverpool have a deal for Bellingham 'all agreed' but this has been refuted by Christian Falk.

The German reporter states 'no offer has reached' Dortmund but Bellingham's family 'will try to get an agreement with Liverpool'.

'The biggest focus is still on Liverpool. There were rumours of an offer Liverpool made to Dortmund for Jude Bellingham but I've heard that no such offer has reached the club at the moment,' Falk wrote for Caught Offside.

'But there is a reason - there are very concrete talks between Bellingham's father, Mark, and Liverpool but both sides are not together when talking about money at the moment. Liverpool will first make an offer as and when they have an agreement with the midfielder's father.

'You see that Bellingham is willing to go to Liverpool but if another club puts a lot more money on the table, it would be hard to say yes. I think the biggest rival in this race is Manchester City at the moment, as they have the money, they're a Premier League club and competing for titles. Real Madrid are still behind the two Premier League clubs at the moment.

'I think the Bellingham family will try to get an agreement with Liverpool but the Reds find themselves somewhat shackled by their finances in comparison to Pep Guardiola's outfit.'

Dortmund would prefer to keep Bellingham beyond this season. Falk thinks the German outfit 'see a slight chance' of him signing a new contract, which could include a release clause.

'The Dortmund view: they're trying really hard now to keep their player. They're aware that there isn't an offer on the table yet and they still see a slight chance of him signing a new contract until 2026,' Falk added.

'I heard they've suggested inserting a release clause of €150m into the new contract. I mentioned in one of my last columns about the prospect of increasing Bellingham's salary to €15m-a-year instead of €6m. Talks will begin during Easter, so there's clear movement on this front.'
