Huddersfield Town player ratings after amazing comeback win over Middlesbrough

Original source (on modern site) | Article images: [1]

Tomas Vaclik - Fortunate to get away with it when his kick out was closed down and blocked. Nothing to be done for the Middlesbrough goals and otherwise had routine work to do. 6

Matty Pearson - Bundled home two goals from close range and put in a good, solid defensive performance. 9

Tom Lees - Had an unfortunate slip as Boro took the lead but otherwise didn't put a foot wrong. 8

Michal Helik - Reliable defending as ever and got up well to help tee up Pearson's first goal off a corner. 8

Josh Ruffels - Was already having a good solid game even before he took the ball past three men single-handed before curling into the top corner to equalise. Sensational goal. 9

Jonathan Hogg - Led the side well and was really important defensively. Will have especially enjoyed that one against his hometown club. 8

Rarmani Edmonds-Green - Once again given a strict man-to-man job on Championship top scorer Chuba Akpom. Generally did alright but did let him get free to score Middlesbrough's second. 7

Jack Rudoni - Worked his socks off in defence to help limit Boro's chances to get through the lines as well as carrying the ball forward well. Good delivery as Town added a third from a corner. 8

Duane Holmes - Returned to the side having been out of action with a calf injury since January, but was forced off with the same issue midway through the first half. 6

Danny Ward - Grew understandably frustrated that he had nobody to knock it down to at times, but kept going and was a menacing presence around the Boro box in the second half. 8

Josh Koroma - Trademark goal to give his side an unlikely lead after a mixed bag of a first half. An absolute powerhouse with the confidence from that goal. 8

Substitutes

Ben Jackson (for Holmes 25) - Came on to play ont he right wing, mostly to allow Koroma to continue on the left. Did his part. 7

David Kasumu (for Koroma 88) - n/a

Tyreece Simpson (for Ward 88) - n/a
