Cristian Stellini has been speaking to the press for the first time since becoming caretaker manager at Tottenham Hotspur, and has offered some insight into what his tactical approach will be for the remainder of the season. Stellini served as assistant manager for Antonio Conte over the last 16 months, but has now been given the top job for the next ten games after Spurs and Conte parted ways last weekend. We've already seen Stellini overseeing the Spurs first team earlier this season, while Conte was in Italy recovering from surgery. The 48-year-old was in the dugout for crucial wins over Manchester City, West Ham, and Chelsea. During that time, Stellini was largely the conduit for Conte's own tactics, team selections, and training sessions. Now, the former assistant will get the chance to put his own stamp on the style of play at Spurs. Stellini has promised tactical changes, telling Charlie Eccelshare: "We are prepared to make changes in some tactical aspects. "We want to continue not only in one way but to change details in the game, thinking about the opponents we face." When asked what his team will look like, Stellini added (Football London): "I want to create the same atmosphere we had in the game against Chelsea, West Ham, Man City, this is the type of game we want to play. "I mentioned two derbies and the opponent in a big game, but it shouldn't matter who the opponent is. "This is my expectation and what I spoke to the players about. I want to see players that move into the pitch with an idea and attack the space with desire." Spurs Web Opinion I have to say I like the sound of this. Maybe the bar is low, but the fact that we have a manager in place right now who is willing to adapt to situations and who is eager to attack the opponent is a real breath of fresh air after Conte's stubborn tactics.
