Police discover body in park during missing-person hunt

A POLICE lead team searching for a missing person has found a body.

The team was searching for missing person Edward Wyles, 33, who was last seen on January 26 in Amesbury.

The body was found in Churchill Gardens, Salisbury, shortly after 9.30am today (March 18). Police closed off the park, and were assisted by Wiltshire Search and Rescue.

Formal identification of the body is yet to take place.

Local officers have informed Edward's next of kin of the latest development.

A police spokesperson said: "Formal identification of the body has yet to take place and local officers have informed Edward's next of kin of the latest development.

"Our thoughts are with Edward's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time and we ask that their privacy is respected."
