Reading FC came from behind to claim a point following a 1-1 draw with Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.

Tommy Conway fired in the opening goal for the home side right on half time with a low drive from about 14 yards out after being left in space.

Substitute Lucas Joao headed Royals level in the 73rd minute after he was picked out by fellow frontman Andy Carroll from a Femi Azeez free-kick.

In a dramatic final minute, both sides had chances to score a winner but ultimately, the points had to be shared.

Below is our verdict on how each Royals player performed at Ashton Gate.

Lumley 7

Provided a couple of nervy moments when he sprinted out of his goal to cover his defence in the first half. Otherwise, a solid performance overall. Did get lucky when he fumbled a shot late on, though, which resulted in City turning it in but it was ruled out for offside.

Yiadom 5.5

Some poor defensive touches and while he did get forward on occasion, there were more times he could have exploited the space in front of him. Picked up a 13th booking of the season.

Holmes 6

Had to play 85 minutes on a yellow card after catching Conway early on with a late challenge but generally coped well with City's attackers and was solid in the air.

Mbengue 5.5

One of four changes to the side and filled in as one of the three centre-backs. A rather erratic performance which combined with some flashes of brilliance and turns of space, intermingled with some sloppy touches as well as his throw-ins which led to nothing.

Sarr 6

A generally solid showing from the towering centre-back. The team could have done with some more leadership and organisation from him though.

Guinness-Walker 5

Restored to the starting line-up. Poor start to the game as City found plenty of space down his side. Grew into the game and did show some nice touches at times. Replaced by Azeez.

Hendrick 4

Very ineffective. Was there for short passes and kept things ticking over but overall his impact was very poor.

Fornah 5

Made a rare start in the midfield. No shortage of effort from the Nottingham Forest loanee but things just didn't fall for him. Sloppy in possession but did send one shot narrowly wide early in the second half.

Casadei 6

Worked hard in the middle of the pitch and managed to get the ball down and play as much as he could.

Carroll 6.5

Did what he could with the numerous long balls that were lumped up to him. Did set up Joao's goal though when he headed Azeez's free-kick towards goal.

Meite 6

Back in the starting 11 after his hamstring injury and had two excellent opportunities in the first half to break the deadlock. The first came when he was picked out unmarked in the area and then when he rounded the keeper but saw his shot headed away. Impact faded in the second half.

SUBS

Azeez 7

Got the final half hour in place of Guinness-Walker. His free-kick led to the equaliser. Brought some pace and energy to the side.

Joao 7

Replaced Fornah on the hour mark. Gave Reading hope with a precise header.

Abrefa 4

Came on for Mbengue for the final 10 minutes. Was rather suspect defensively.
