Hull City boss Liam Rosenior will welcome back both Matt Ingram and Ryan Woods into his squad for this afternoon's home clash with Rotherham United at the MKM Stadium.

Woods and Ingram have both been sidelined in recent weeks with groin and hamstring problems respectively, but the pair will likely be included in the matchday squad, There are doubts, though, surrounding Dimitrios Pelkas after he contracted food poisoning while away on international duty with Greece.

With the news that Aaron Connolly is back in training but not fit enough to be involved, City will once again have leading 13-goal striker Oscar Estupinan as their only recognised striker, with Benjamin Tetteh sidelined for the rest of the season.

It would not be a huge surprise to see Rosenior opt for the same side that started the 1-1 draw at Reading two weeks ago despite Ozan Tufan and Greg Docherty pushing for returns.

Formation-wise, Rosenior went 4-4-2 at the SCL Stadium but could revert to a 4-2-3-1 shape against the Millers in front of a near-capacity crowd.

Karl Darlow will almost certainly keep his place in goal, with Jacob Greaves likely to continue at left-back, with regular central defensive pairing Sean McLoughlin and Alfie Jones in the middle with Lewie Coyle on the right, given the continued absence of Cyrus Christie through injury.

Jean Michael Seri and Regan Slater will likely be deployed as the midfield two, with Allahyar and Malcolm Ebiowei on the flanks, Adama Traore likely to operate in the advanced midfield role behind Estupinan.

"It was needed for everyone (the international break), Rosenior said ahead of the game. "To be fair, all the boys have come back raring to go. I've enjoyed the last week of training. I've had time to really analyse our games and look at what we can improve on between now and the end of the season.

"The players were brilliant (in the 4-2 win at Rotherham in October). That game's gone now and Rotherham have really improved since then. They're trying to play in a different way with some very good technical players. They're a very different proposition.

"We have to keep going. If we were a little bit more ruthless and showed a little less naivety, we'd be in a much stronger position in the league. We've been in most games this season and it's the fine margins that make a difference."

City's predicted starting XI: Darlow, Greaves, McLoughlin, A Jones, Coyle (c), Seri, Slater, Allahyar, Ebiowei, Traore, Estupinan.
