Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola couldn't contain his excitement when Julian Alvarez scored in the 4-1 victory over Liverpool.

The Spaniard went wild in his celebration on the touchline, and did so in front of Reds substitute Kostas Tsimikas.

Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool the lead against the run of play after a simple long-ball split the hosts' defence.

Alvarez was on hand to level just ten minutes later though as City continue to chase Arsenal for the title.

Guardiola was clearly delighted with the goal, and a video from the touchline has shown his hilarious reaction.

He pumped his fists in the air and caught Tsimikas in the corner of his eye.

The manager looked towards the Liverpool defender and continued to scream in joy, this time towards his face.

In fairness to Tsimikas, he did well in the circumstances, with the Greek star continuing his walk towards his warm up.

Guardiola then quickly embraced him, before shaking hands with Arthur Melo shortly after.

Speaking on BT Sport, Rio Ferdinand was impressed with Tsimikas' resilience when face to face with the City boss.

"That celebration there, I don't know how Tsimikas hasn't pushed the opposing manager Guardiola out the way."

City ramped up the pressure at the start of the second half, with Kevin De Bruyne netting from close range to put his side 2-1 up.

Ilkay Gundogan netted a third seven minutes later as the hosts took full control of the game.

Jack Grealish then scored a deserved goal to make it 4-1 to City, with Liverpool completely falling apart despite taking the lead.
