The Scottish international fired two braces past Cyprus and Spain over the international break to get Scotland's EURO 2024 qualification campaign off to the best possible start. And his impressive displays for Erik ten Hag's side this season has reportedly caught the attention of Eddie Howe and the Magpies - something Scholes is not happy about. He's a really talented player, he's a really good player," Scholes said on the Webby and O'Neill YouTube channel. "He's got on with his job and he's a top class player Scott. "I hate to see homegrown talent leaving the club to be honest with you but sometimes it has to happen. If he can come into this team and show that Casemiro isn't missed, hopefully he will still be with us next year."
