It's time to say goodbye to an Emmerdale character as the huge court case nears its conclusion.

Things recently looked damning for Rhona (Zoe Henry) when Gus (Alan McKenna) took the stand and twisted everything to make her look truly rotten.

It resulted in a war of words between the pair, during which Gus spat some vile words at Rhona, highlighting that their relationship is done and dusted.

But now Gus' sentencing is approaching and it's a shock for Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Mary (Louise Jameson) when Gus appears in the village. He takes the opportunity to assure them they will be part of Ivy's life, if he gets a lighter sentence.

Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

To Marlon, it sounds like Gus might once again be pulling a fast one to save his own skin. The man clearly has no scruples. Marlon and Rhona share their thoughts on his upcoming sentencing and their joint thinking bonds them.

When it comes to Rhona handing Ivy back to Gus, she's unreadable and it's unclear how she's planning to approach this.

They agree, finally, that the main thing is that they all put Ivy first.

The next day, Rhona's nerves pour through, and Marlon does his best to settle her ahead of her moment in court.

But Rhona has things on her mind. Once in court, she steps up to read her statement, but with mistrust for Gus and his promises, plus the memory of how he tried to sell her down the river, she looks dangerously like she could do something impulsive.

Will she change her mind on helping him stay out of prison?
