A Lancaster bomber is to fly over Cheshire this afternoon (May 28) as part of the Battle of Britain memorial flight. The huge World War II plane took part in a fly-past over Cheshire yesterday, flanked by a Spitfire and a Hurricane fighter

The Lancaster is due fly over Smallwood, between Sandbach and Congleton, at 13.15pm, where the Smallwood Vintage Rally is taking place. Visitors to the rally were treated to the three famous planes flying overhead yesterday.

Among the attractions on offer at the rally are a range of stands offering cakes, antiques, collectibles and more. There are also craft marquee and children's amusements as well as vintage classic and modern vehicle exhibits including commercials, vintage cars, classic campers, stationary engines, military vehicles and tanks, motorbikes, fire engines, an amazing display of steam engines with a daily steam parade - as well as a display of almost 200 vintage tractors.
