As non-working royals, Harry and Meghan are not expected to have any formal role in the ceremony, and plans for the official Coronation procession, reported by The Times, show no mention of the couple being involved.

Now, a source has claimed that the Sussexes are asking Palace aides to include them in the balcony appearance which follows the procession.

The insider told The Mirror: "Once the King has been crowned, there will be a Coronation procession that will start at Westminster Abbey and end at Buckingham Palace.

"Once the procession reaches the Palace, the King will take to the balcony and wave at the crowds with the rest of the royal family members and their children. This is where Harry and Meghan have requested inclusion."

GB News presenter Nigel Farage has claimed that the couple is "not entitled" to be on the balcony. He told Sky News Australia's Paul Murray: "The rule is very simple, the balcony is for working, engaged royals."

He explained: "The balcony is for royals, who yes take some money from the public purse, but in return, do vast amounts of work for charities, carrying out royal functions, opening new schools and doing all the things our royals have done and done very well.

"Harry and Meghan opted out of that, they decided to go to the west coast and make lots of money. They are not entitled to be on that balcony and the King absolutely must not give in to this."

The couple were previously snubbed from taking part in the balcony appearances during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last June.

They reportedly want to join the Royal Family on the balcony as it is a "special moment". A source told OK!: "This could prove a real sticking point because the Palace have narrowed it down to only working members of the royal family on the balcony. Harry and Meghan are keen that they too should be a part of that special family moment."
