Sheffield street flooded by police after reports of stabbing

Police have closed and cordoned off Crookes in Sheffield after an as-yet unconfirmed report of a stabbing.

Crookes, the main road, in the area of Crookes, Sheffield, has been shut from near to The Ball pub to past the Domino's according to reports from the scene.

Images seen online show at least four police cars and two ambulances inside a police cordon which has been taped across Crookes the street.

The incident was reported as of about 7.30pm and is still ongoing.

South Yorkshire Police are yet to confirm details of the incident but it is thought to be a stabbing according to local eyewitnesses.

17-year-old stabbed to death as two men, aged 29 and 18, arrested

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "A murder inquiry is underway after a 17-year-old was reportedly stabbed Sheffield yesterday evening (Thursday 25 May). We were called shortly after 7pm to reports of a stabbing on Crookes Road.
"The boy was taken to hospital but sadly died shortly after he arrived. Two men, aged 29 and 18, are in police custody after being detained on suspicion of murder."
Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Kemp leading the investigation said: "We know how concerning this incident will be for the local community and residents across the city and I want to reassure the public that our enquiries into the incident continue at pace."Our officers are working around the clock to piece together the circumstances of what happened last night, which sadly led to a teenager losing his life.
"There continues to be a high number of uniformed officers in the area today carrying out enquiries, and there are also a number of road closures and police cordons in place. If you see our officers around the area then please don't hesitate to stop and speak to them - we're here to help and support you."

Murder investigation launched after teen killed

A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager has been tragically killed in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police were called to Crookes in Sheffield on Thursday (May 25) evening following reports a teenager had been assaulted. Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody on Friday.

Eyewitness reports seeing stabbing after 'fight'

A local eyewitness reported seeing a stabbing in the main road in Crookes, after a fight in the street left one person 'staggering' across the road. The air ambulance then landed in the cemetery nearby

Air ambulance lands in Crookes

A reader has sent images of the air ambulance which landed in Crookes tonight.

Alex Harriman caught the moment the Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed near to the street, after eyewitnesses reported paramedics rushing to the scene with a police escort.

It is still not confirmed what happened, but reports of a serious stabbing are widespread in the local area
