Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for information following the fatal collision this afternoon (May 25) By Toby CoddTrainee reporter Bookmark A motorcyclist has died following a crash near Axbridge this afternoon (May 25). Avon and Somerset Police were called to reports of a single-vehicle collision on the A371 at around 1.40pm. The road was closed in both directions following the crash as investigation work was carried out. It reopened at around 7.35pm. The motorcyclist's next of kin have been informed. They are being supported by a specially-trained liaison officer. They are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has relevant dash cam footage. Avon and Somerset Police said: "We'd ask anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed what happened to please call 101 and provide the call-handler with reference number 5223122142.
