Liverpool are still the frontrunners in the race to sign Jude Bellingham, sources have told Football Insider.

The Reds believe they have their noses in front in the battle for the Borussia Dortmund sensation, 19, amid competing interest from Real Madrid, Man United and Man City.

The midfielder will have two years left on his contract in Germany at the end of the season, but Football Insider revealed in January that he has stalled on signing an extension as he gears up for a big-money move.

Jurgen Klopp's side are still leading the chase as the summer window approaches but fear there is some way to go to get a deal over the line.

The Bundesliga giants are demanding what sources say is a "huge" fee now in excess of £130million in order to let their prize asset quit at the end of the season.

The Reds are believed to be willing to match that price but are aware that Champions League qualification could be crucial in convincing Bellingham of a move to Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's side are currently sixth in the Premier League, seven points off Tottenham who are in the final Champions League spot.

The top four route is their only chance of securing Champions League football next season after they were knocked out of this season's competition by holders Real Madrid.

Bellingham has made 34 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions this season and has scored ten goals and provided six assists in those outings.

The youngster also made history in October by becoming the youngest Bundesliga captain ever when he took on the armband for his side's visit to Cologne.

In other news, Liverpool cancel tour plans - it's a game-changer for Klopp.
