Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after serious crash

A MOTORCYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital after a serious crash.

Police were called to the incident on the B3143, Slyer's Lane between Piddlehinton and Dorchester at 4.17pm on Friday.

The collision involved a dark blue Vauxhall Insignia, a white BMW 3 Series, thought to be driving in convoy, and a black Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man from the Chideock area, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

A 27-year-old Dorchester man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of road traffic offences. He has been released under investigation.

Police Constable Steve Eastwood, the Roads Policing Team, said: "I am appealing for witnesses to the collision or who may have seen the vehicles travelling together to please come forward.

"Also, I would like to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant footage on their dashcam."
