Christopher Paul COCKAYNE Known to many as Paul, Christopher Paul Cockayne died peacefully in hospital surrounded by his family on Saturday 7th May 2023 aged 80 years. Philip Henry Lewis 1954 - 2023 Sadly, passed away in the early hours of the 15th May. Philip spent his last hours surrounded by family and friends and wonderful neighbours. His son was with him at his home on Taliesin Place, Glanymor Park, at the end and one could not ask for more than that. Philip, son of Mervyn and Nancy Lewis, Coal Merchants, of Belgrave Road, Gorseinon; brother to Ann Murfin (deceased 2017) and survived by his sister Bethan Lewis-Powell, his much loved only son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Richard, Jessica, Kaitlyn and Ryan Lewis, his brother-in-law, nieces and nephew. Philip, a lifelong supporter of Manchester City FC, regularly attended matches. A keen outdoorsman, he loved the Loughor Estuary, near where he lived, and spent many happy days river fishing in Carmarthenshire and driving around the Gower in his car. He enjoyed life and made sure we all knew it. The 5 o'clock club was a must at The Rev. He was a giver rather than a taker. His love of people of all ages was reciprocated and many have funny stories to tell about their encounters with him. He will live on in all our memories. Happy in his own skin. Leighton, of Langland, Swansea, who died peacefully, 6 May 2023, aged 86 years, at Morriston Hospital, Swansea, with his family at his side. Beloved son of Dilys and Andrew, brother to Eric, treasured father to Siân and Gareth Jones, brother-in-law to Valerie, and uncle to Catherine, Philippa and Marianne. Leighton was a former Head of Music at The Brook School, Basildon and Senior Lecturer at Kilburn College, London. He was a popular member of the diaconate at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church in London, and South Street Baptist Church in Exeter. Latterly he was a faithful worshipper at Sketty Uniting Church, He held a deep Christian faith, was always ready with a listening ear, and freely gave of himself in service to the church. Leighton was a keen musician, hymn writer, and rugby fan. He brought joy, calm assurance, and warmth to those around him, and will be dearly missed. A thanksgiving service for his life will be held on Thursday 1st June at 1pm at Sketty Uniting Church, to which all are welcome. Cremation to follow with close family members at Swansea Crematorium. 1954 - 2023 Sadly, passed away in the early hours of the 15th May. Philip spent his last hours surrounded by family and friends and wonderful neighbours. His son was with him at his home on Taliesin Place, Glanymor Park, at the end and one could not ask for more than that. Philip, son of Mervyn and Nancy Lewis, Coal Merchants, of Belgrave Road, Gorseinon; brother to Ann Murfin (deceased 2017) and survived by his sister Bethan Lewis-Powell, his much loved only son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Richard, Jessica, Kaitlyn and Ryan Lewis, his brother-in-law, nieces and nephew. Philip, a lifelong supporter of Manchester City FC, regularly attended matches. A keen outdoorsman, he loved the Loughor Estuary, near where he lived, and spent many happy days river fishing in Carmarthenshire and driving around the Gower in his car. He enjoyed life and made sure we all knew it. The 5 o'clock club was a must at The Rev. He was a giver rather than a taker. His love of people of all ages was reciprocated and many have funny stories to tell about their encounters with him. He will live on in all our memories. Happy in his own skin.
