'The Turk' appears in court over alleged crime order breach

A convicted gangster nicknamed "The Turk" has been charged after allegedly breaching the terms of a Serious Crime Prevention Order.

Ciaran McHale, 31, stands accused of flouting the court imposed order put in place in 2019. According to court documents, McHale, whose address was listed as HMP Swaleside in Kent but previously of Alexandra Drive, Aigburth, was issued with the prevention order under section 1 of the Serious Crime Act 2007 by Liverpool Crown Court on October 25 2019.

The court documents allege: "On June 15 2021 at Merseyside, without reasonable excuse, [McHale] failed to comply with a Serious Crime Prevention Order...in that you failed to send written notice informing Merseyside Police of changes relating to your home address, acquisition of a temporary address or change of your temporary address or you ceasing to have one."

McHale, who is nicknamed "The Turk", appeared before Liverpool Magistrates' Court for a first hearing on Thursday, April 18.
