Good Morning Britain have confirmed ITV regular Martin Lewis will be taking on the role of regular co-host on the early morning news show. The programme has been rotating a range of guest presenters working alongside Susanna Reid ever since her former co-star Piers Morgan quit the show back in 2021. However, GMB have now revealed the 'Money Saving Expert' is stepping into the role as a regular host on a variety of Wednesdays throughout the year. "To have the ability to hold politicians to account, over the cost of living, is a privilege and a responsibility," he said in a statement. "It's a slight gear change from my usual work, but after years of answering complex questions, it's nice for once to be asking them. So I was delighted when ITV offered me the role of regular presenter. "The difficulty came with working it around my day-job, as Money Saving Expert, which is always my priority," he explained. "So I'm hopeful the solution we've come up with, to lock in a dozen special shows a year, sitting alongside Susanna Reid's brilliant journalism, is one the show's viewers will welcome." "Martin Lewis is undoubtedly the voice of the nation when it comes to the cost of living crisis," she commented. "Together we will continue to challenge politicians and hold them to account. I can't wait to have him sitting next to me again at the GMB desk from next week." The news comes after Reid celebrated a significant milestone in her television career. On Wednesday's (March 22) instalment of GMB, the presenter reflected on her past as she celebrated reaching 20 years on breakfast TV. Good Morning Britain airs on ITV.
