Brian Cox has weighed in on the decision to end HBO hit show Succession with its fourth season, premiering in just a few days. The Scottish actor plays patriarch and media mogul Logan Roy in the black dramedy created by Jesse Armstrong. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the star revealed he is "happy" the show is gifting fans a satisfying ending without dragging the storylines out. "Jesse won't let anything go on further than it needs to," the actor continued. "A lot of shows outstay their welcome, and I think our show is perfect, and neat, in the way it is." Cox, who recently made headlines for his comments about Succession's Jeremy Strong's method acting, said he's "happy" the show will be off the air soon. "I'll miss the people I work with. They're the key." Cox's co-star Alan Ruck seems to be on the same page as his onscreen dad. The Ferris Bueller's Day Off actor, who portrays Roy's eldest child and wannabe politician Connor, agreed the show should go out on a high note. "I think it's the right time to end it in terms of the struggle to see who's going to take command of this empire. A fifth season would have been drawn out, and if it just faded away, that would have been a disgrace," Ruck told Empire earlier this month. Succession returns on March 26, 2023 on HBO in the US, and Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.
