CCTV appeal after serious assault in Leeds bar

A 31-year-old was left with a broken jaw after being punched in a Leeds bar this month.

On Sunday, May 7, the punter was in Stone Roses Bar, in Briggate, when he was seriously assaulted by a man. The victim was left in hospital and required surgery and wires fitted to his jaw.

Detectives from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) would like to speak to a man in connection with the incident. A CCTV image has been released and police are asking members of the public who may recognise the individual to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Do you recognise this man? Detectives investigating a serious assault are releasing a CCTV image in connection.

"At around 4.15am on Sunday 7 May, at the Stone Roses Bar in Leeds, the 31-year-old victim was punched in the face by a stranger, breaking his jaw. The injury required surgery and wires fitted to the man's jaw.

"Detectives believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that could help their investigation. Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 195 of 07/05/2023. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
