Colin Farrell 'splits from girlfriend of five years due to busy work schedules'

Colin Farrell has reportedly split from his long-term partner Kelly McNamara.

The Irish heartthrob has been dating the glamorous personal assistant for the past five years and has previously said he "adores" her.

However, the pair's punishing work schedules are said to be behind the split.

Kelly is PA to U2's The Edge - that's how she is believed to have met Colin - while Colin has been on a gruelling promotional tour for his role in the award-winning The Banshees of Inisherin.

A source told The Sun that since Colin is currently the "man of the moment" thanks to his new film his work schedule has "taken a toll on his relationship" so the has "quietly called it quits".

The source added: "There is no bad feeling between them but upholding a romantic relationship when your work schedule is so demanding became difficult to juggle."

Talking to Ellen De Generes about his relationship with Kelly, Colin once joked: "My girlfriend, she travels a lot as well with work so oftentimes we're two ships passing in the night.

"But we make sure to find a port that we can, you know, rendezvous at."

When asked by Ellen if she was in the business, Colin said that she is not, but added: "She travels a lot in her work and she works very hard.

"But yeah, It's been quite a while now."

Colin has been in a string of high-profile relationships and was previously known for his hell-raising ways.

He's been linked to the likes of Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Demi Moore, Naomi Campbell and Kate Beckinsale.

Colin also has two children - James, 19, with his ex Kim Bordenave, and Henry, 13, with his ex Alicja Bachleda-Curuś.

In fact, Henry was his plus-one at the Oscars earlier this month. Colin was nominated for Best Actor.

The doting dad and his teenage son wore matching dapper black tuxedos and posed happily on the red carpet.

Sadly, Colin lost out on the esteemed gong to Brendan Fraser, for his leading role in The Whale.
