The future of ITV Road Trip has seemingly been sealed - after Gino D'Acampo quit the programme. Gino - one of the ITV show's three stars - announced his departure earlier this week.

And now the future of the show looks unlikely. PR specialist Georgia Latham at Foundation told Entertainment Daily: "Gino, Gordon and Fred's Road Trip has been hugely popular since its debut episode in 2018. There is no doubt that Gino D'Acampo's exit from the series will deal a substantial blow to the show."

Georgia shared: "I think that the show will struggle to maintain the same momentum without Gino in it. What makes the series so popular is the chemistry and friendship between the three of them, without Gino that dynamic is compromised."

"They may try and replace Gino, however, I'm personally unsure as to whether there is a suitable candidate," she said. "They will be unable to replicate the same friendship and connection with a new addition to the show."

The Italian celebrity chef, 46, said he would rather step back from the ITV show, Gordon, Gino And Fred: Road Trip, than affect his friendship with his co-stars as he values it "so much". The first series of the ITV show aired in 2018 and followed D'Acampo, Ramsay and Sirieix on a European adventure, organising a special ceremony in each of their home countries - Italy, Scotland and France respectively.

The four-part follow-up series, Gordon, Gino & Fred: American Road Trip, was launched in 2020 while the third, Gordon, Gino & Fred Go Greek, had a shortened run of two episodes when it premiered in 2021. There were also three Christmas specials and two episodes with unseen clips from across the series.

The trio will return to screens later this year for the fourth, and potentially final, instalment which sees them head to Spain in search for the best seafood, wine and tapas.
