Gabriel Jesus scored his first goal for Arsenal since the North London derby on October 1st when he put the Gunners ahead from the penalty spot in the first half of today's 4-1 win over Leeds.

The Brazilian doubled his tally on the day in the second half, starting and finishing a beautiful combination move with Leandro Trossard, before making way on the hour mark as he continues to build his match fitness.

You would think he'd be eager to talk up his contribution, but afterwards he insisted the three points earned by the team were of far more weight than his goals.

Asked about the gap between his most recent goals and his last one, he said, "I feel good. Always in my career I've have some bad period, but I'm here to learn and to fix it, and to try and help.

"I want to score every game, if you ask me I want to score but sometimes, you know, it doesn't happen.

"But more important is the three points, than the goals. So congratulations to the team."

Arsenal's goal difference now stands at +43 with City on +45, and the former Man City man was asked if this was something the team took into consideration.

"Of course, to compete against a strong opponent who score a lot of goals is not easy, so we look at this," he said.

"We think more about the points than goal difference, but when you have the chance you have to try and score the goals."

And today, he played his part in that.
