@ 3:11pm Police hunting for a missing North Yorkshire man have found a body. They launched a search for Nicholas Leaf, from Riccall after he was last seen by his family on the night of Tuesday 9 April. Officers recovered a body this afternoon (Thursday). A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The body was discovered at around 1pm in water near to his home address. "Formal identification has taken place and the body is confirmed to be that of Nicholas, who was last seen on Tuesday 9 April. "His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will now be prepared for the coroner. "We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeals, and we ask that Nicholas' family's privacy is respected at this difficult time." Mr Leaf was 67. A message shared by a member of the family on the Facebook page dedicated to finding Mr Leaf said: "I'm very sorry to share the news that Nick has been found and is no longer with us. "Thank you again for all your support over the last nine days."
