Gus Malcolms made a surprise offer to ex Rhona Goskirk this week in Emmerdale, despite their ongoing feud over baby Ivy. It seems the new dad could have a change of heart.

The pair had been involved in a tense court battle, with Gus being vile towards her. It comes as ITV soap fans recall the pair were both arrested after the tug-of-war over Rhona's biological daughter.

Gus is yet to learn the outcome over fraud charges. He had used frozen embryos that belonged to him and Rhona during their marriage years prior, with new wife Lucy, without her permission - Rhona had been under the impression they were destroyed.

He forged her signature and Lucy fell pregnant however she sadly died during Ivy's birth. Rhona developed a connection to the baby and ended up keen to help raise her biological daughter. Gus however tried to flee to France, as Rhona took the tot and stopped him in his tracks.

Rhona has avoided being put behind bars, although Gus is to face his outcome in court this week where he could be locked up for years. Tuesday's episode saw him declare he wanted to put Ivy first with Rhona and her partner Marlon's help, the Mirror reports.

Viewers saw Gus express that no matter his sentencing, he wants the couple to create the best life for his daughter. He later expressed his fears to Rhona about the outcome of the judges.

However despite Gus being more forthcoming, Rhona seemed unsure. She asked Marlon for his thoughts, questioning is Gus would be reasonable. Marlon said: "We're all gonna be fine," but could Rhona be right and is Gus planning something?

Gus expressed his feelings of missing his daughter as he left the weight with Rhona, however viewers haven't been convinced as they took to social media.

One fan posted on X: "Is Gus doing a runner? " Another agreed: "I wouldn't trust Gus further than i could throw him," as a third added: "I really really don't trust Gus, he's gonna take ivy and run... I just know it."
