Patient flown to hospital after crash shuts road for four hours

A patient was flown to hospital tonight following a crash which shut a main road for more than four hours

The accident took place on the A5119 Black Brook Road in Sychdyn, Flintshire.

The collision took place just after 4pm and a rapid response vehicle, one ambulance and a Wales Air Ambulance attended.

The helicopter flew one casualty to the Royal Stoke Hospital trauma centre.

The patient's condition is unknown.

North Wales Police said: "Due to a road traffic collision on the Main Road in Sychdyn, we are having to divert traffic and we ask that you please avoid the area. Thank you."

Earlier today, The Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust said a motorcycle and a car were involved in a separate accident on Weighbridge Road on the Deeside industrial estate.

Emergency crews were called to the scene by a roundabout at 11.29am.

A WAS spokesman said paramedics took one casualty to the Countess of Chester Hospital.
