NEW ORLEANS (WVUE)—The party didn't stop once the Rolling Stones left the stage. Some people popped from one venue to another around the Fairgrounds, Uptown and the Marigny to catch more music while their post-legendary performance adrenaline rush was still rocking and rolling.

The Rolling Stones let the good times roll, and they finally took the festival stage after years of anticipation.

Fans lucky enough to enjoy the set, packed in the fairgrounds like a can of sardines, showing off their moves like Mick Jagger.

When local legend Irma Thomas took the stage to sing "Time is on my side" which The Rolling Stones covered after hearing her performance, the crowd couldn't hold back.

When asked if they got their $225+ worth many responded saying it was an iconic performance and one of their favorite Jazz Fests to date.

For some, seeing the Stones was a sentimental experience.

Many people posted up outside the gate and held porch parties to listen in for free. Businesses banked on the sheer number of people in the area and collected a pretty penny from parking. Usually, there would be a medley of music from all the stages, but come 5 o'clock, it was nothing but the iconic group.

The longest Jazz Fest in history continues on Friday.
