Forget the 'Up' House, We'd Rather Rent Out These Iconic Movie Locations

Airbnb just launched Icons, a new offering that includes pop culture experiences and stays.

Airbnb has revealed its next great novelty: Icons. The new offering from the vacation rental platform is leaning into the set-jetting trend hard. Airbnb has offered previous versions of this, like the Barbie Malibu Dreamhouse and Shrek's Swamp. The idea is to offer ultra-exclusive fan-driven experiences that customers can't get anywhere else. But instead of providing just one or two exclusive experiences, Airbnb's Icons started with a drop of 11 different unique stays and experiences.

The flashiest of the new stays, which are all detailed below, is definitely the Up house, which is an actual suspended home located in Abiquiu, New Mexico. The home is held up by a crane (though I don't know if it will stay suspended during your stay). The home is a true-to-animation recreation home featured in the movie, including the thousands of balloons floating above the home, but the balloons above the Airbnb thankfully don't pop. You can request to book the home until May 13. You can see more photos and learn how to book a stay on the Airbnb website.

"Icons take you inside worlds that only existed in your imagination—until now," said Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky. "As life becomes increasingly digital, we're focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we've created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth."

Here are the additional 10 stays:

Pretty cool, right? I mean, the experience of living life like a reggaeton superstar on tour for a week sounds like a fantastic experience—and I know a legion of youngsters who would give up junk food for life to play Fortnite with Khaby Lame. What's even cooler is that these stays will either be free or priced at less than $100. The catch is that you'll have to be fast enough to book, as most are one-time or limited-time offers.

Considering this is an ongoing project at Airbnb—it will be a continuing curation of "extraordinary experiences hosted by the world's greatest names in music, film, TV, art, sports, and more"—the staff of Thrillist has a few suggestions for the next Icons stays:
