Americans will get an extra 943 dollars from Supplemental Security Income

Those Americans with an accepted Supplemental Security Income benefit could enjoy an extra payment. This extra check in May would arrive at the end of the month to eligible United States households. This is good news, as it grants an extra check to these beneficiaries.

In general, Supplemental Security Income payments are sent once a month. But when there are some irregularities we can find ourselves with two checks. And in the case of May we found this irregularity. Even so, it is true that this extra payment is not a new check, but an advance of next month's payment.

Who gets the extra Supplemental Security Income for May?

Admittedly, all Supplemental Security Income payments go to all recipients. That is, the SSI payment schedule is the same for each and every United States citizen who has this benefit accepted. There are no different payment days because of the birthday or the day they have applied for a check.

So we do not have to meet any special requirements for the 31st of May to get the extra check for Supplemental Security Income in this month. Of course, the Administration will send this payment, but getting it on that exact day will depend on whether we have activated Direct Deposit or not. Therefore, that would be the only requirement to get the payment on the same day it is sent.

How much will the Supplemental Security Income extra be?

The amount of this payment will be the same as the May 1st payment. The checks for this benefit are usually the same each month, but may vary. The maximum payment for this benefit is $943, but such a large check is only available to a few Americans.

So if in previous months you got a check for $500, for example, on the 31st of May you will get such a check. Although it should be remembered that the payment will be larger than last year's check 2023, since the COLA has increased these checks from Supplemental Security Income and other Social Security payments.
