King Charles Reportedly Too 'Busy' to Hang With Prince Harry

After the Palace announced that King Charles would receive treatment for an unspecified type of cancer in February, Prince Harry quickly reported for duty — dropping everything, including any lingering royal drama, to hop on a plane and visit his father. Although Harry later stated on Good Morning America that he intended to see his family — namely, the ailing King — "as much as I can," a Monday report from the Telegraph makes it seem as though King Charles doesn't reciprocate those feelings.

Per "Page Six," the budding reality-television magnate is set to return to the U.K. next week on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, the multisport Paralympic-style event he launched for injured servicemen and veterans in 2014. Though the Games mark Harry's first trip across the pond since he last visited his father in February, King Charles is reportedly not at all pressed to meet with his son, with the Telegraph noting he might be too "busy" to pencil Harry in. Current items on the itinerary outranking quality father-son bonding include the King's weekly audience with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the first Buckingham Palace garden party of the season and previous engagements. If the King can squeeze him in, the meeting is likely to be brief. Rubbing salt in the wound, the New York Post adds that as of Monday, no senior members of the royal family are expected to attend Prince Harry's event.

Before you start feeling too bad for poor Harry, "Page Six" reminds us that the King is considering inviting his youngest son and his brood to Balmoral Castle this summer so he can spend time with his grandchildren, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2. Until then, Harry and Meghan will just have to stomach a little more time in their Montecito enclave, reaping the benefits of their exclusive Netflix streaming deal and Meghan's flourishing limited-edition jam business.
