ODESA, Ukraine (WJW) - A day of mourning has been declared in the Odesa region of Ukraine after a Russian missile attack killed multiple people.

The attack damaged a landmark building known to locals as the "Harry Potter Castle."

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said 5 people were killed in the attack and at least 23 people were injured.

The governor of Odesa Oblast updated the condition of survivors on Tuesday.

"4 of them are in extremely serious condition, including a four-year-old girl. Our doctors try to do everything possible," Oleh Kiper said.

Video showed flames and smoke rising from the "Harry Potter Castle," which is actually the reception house of the International Humanitarian University.

A student at the academy told Reuters the fire started when the missile was shot down.
