A quick Google search of Drew Lock and the New York Giants is often accompanied by "backup QB." Even Lock acknowledged that Daniel Jones is the starter after signing a one-year, $5 million deal this offseason.

But NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah said that role is not set in stone: the Giants will allow Lock to compete for the starting job — and there's a good chance he could become QB1.
