Ticket Prices For Caitlin Clark's First WNBA Preseason Game Are Mind-Boggling

Back in the day - and by that, I mean two weeks ago - you could basically walk into a WNBA game for free, no questions asked. Frankly, they'd probably pay YOU to come and watch for three hours. 

But that was before the Caitlin Clark bandwagon pulled into town. Now? Buddy, you better be ready to dig into that rainy day fund and then scrounge between the couch cushions for every last 20-year-old penny. 

Clark makes her WNBA preseason debut tonight as the Indiana Fever head to Dallas to take on the Dallas Wings, and the average get-in price as of this afternoon eclipsed $100 on several sites. That's right. 

One hundred dollars. Ten thousand pennies, if that's the route you wanna go. Enough Busch Light to get me though a week(end). 

Absurd. For a WNBA … preseason … game!

Caitlin Clark effect in the WNBA is real already

Insanity. And look, this isn't a knock against the WNBA, so please, spare me the fake outrage. 

It's more of a knock against preseason games! Could you imagine spending $100 to go and watch a meaningless preseason game? I mean, I wouldn't spend $100 to watch a meaningful WNBA game personally, but at least that's somewhat justifiable. 

But preseason? Sheesh. 

Now, this is peanuts compared to the Brinks Truck they had to back up to Caitlin Clark games back in her Iowa days. 

The cheapest ticket to Clark's final home game earlier this year? $460. Back in January, some ticket prices for Iowa home games - for seats directly behind the bench - were north of $1,000. 

That would be $6,800 for a family of four. For a women's college basketball game! 

Will we see those numbers this summer at Indiana Fever home games? I mean, if you asked me a month ago I would've said no chance. 

But if we're shelling out $100 to see Caitlin Clark jack up threes in a preseason game on May 3, I reckon anything is possible.
