Apple Rumored to Update iPhone 17 With New Design, Replace iPhone Plus With Slim Model, More

The iPhone 17 lineup could be a strong cycle for Apple, driven by a new design for the iPhone 17, AI processing, a new slim model that will replace the iPhone Plus, and more, according to Haitong Intl Tech Research analyst Jeff Pu.

The analyst expects the iPhone 17 to feature a new design for its appearance/casing, upgrades to the Pro model camera, more DRAM for Pro models, a much narrowed Pro Max Dynamic Island (thanks to metalens), and faster chips.

Here's a look at the lineup Pu foresees for 2025...

iPhone 17 Pro

● Processor: A19 Pro, N3P

● DRAM: LPDD5 12GB

● Front camera: 24MP, 6P

● Rear camera: 48MP 7P, Periscope 48MP 1G+3P, 48MP 6P

● Face ID: Structured light

● Casing: Aluminium (a more complex design)

iPhone 17 Pro Max

● Display: 6.9"

● Processor: A19 Pro, N3P

● DRAM: LPDD5 12GB

● Front camera: 24MP, 6P

● Rear camera: 48MP 7P, Periscope 48MP 1G+3P, 48MP 6P

● Face ID: Structured light, Metalens

● Casing: Titanium

Notice that the Pro models are predicted to have 12GB of RAM and a Periscope 48MP 1G+3P lens, up from the expected Periscope 12MP 1G+3P lens on the iPhone 16.
