Denver is looking for a bounce-back night on Monday. They lost to the Timberwolves, 106-99, in Game 1 of this second-round series. This was Denver's first loss at home since Game 2 of the 2023 NBA Finals. It's also the first time they've trailed in a playoff series since 2022. Minnesota held Denver's offense to under 100 points for the first time all playoffs; they were also the only team to hold the Nuggets' offense under 100 points multiple times in the regular season.

Despite that, Nikola Jokić accounted for nearly a third of his team's points with 32 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 steals. Michael Porter Jr. also pitched in 20 points on 4-of-7 made three-pointers and 6 rebounds.

Finding an answer to Anthony Edwards will be paramount for the Nuggets. He filled the box score with a game-high 43 points on 17-of-29 shooting, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. There are solutions at Denver's disposal. Helping aggressively off certain players or even altering its pick-and-roll schemes slightly could make a difference. You can read more about those adjustments in our latest Film Study.

Denver had the NBA's second-best home record in the regular season at 33-8. They'll need that raucous Ball Arena crowd on Monday.
