Prince William shared a brief update about Kate Middleton and the couple's three children on Tuesday. Since the surprise announcement in late March that Kate had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, the princess of Wales's plea for "time, space, and privacy" for herself and her family has been largely respected, in contrast to the flurry of speculation surrounding her whereabouts before the news was made public. Kensington Palace has not provided updates on Kate's health, but on Tuesday, William indicated that the family was well.

While on a visit to northeast England, where he made stops in support of environmental and mental wellness initiatives, William was greeted by two bystanders draped with the Union Jack, a moment captured in a video shared to social media.

"Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?" one well-wisher asks in the clip.

"We're all doing well, thank you," William said.

"And obviously Catherine?" the person pressed.

"We're all doing well," William reiterated.

Tuesday's outing was William's third day of official engagements since the Wales family shared Kate's diagnosis publicly. Kate has stepped back from her public-facing duties as she undergoes treatment, but shared a sweet photo recently to Instagram in honor of her youngest child Prince Louis's sixth birthday. Earlier this week, Kate and William marked their 13th wedding anniversary, sharing a previously unreleased portrait from their 2011 wedding day.

"13 years ago today!" the caption on the photo read.

Kate, of course, isn't the only ailing member of the royal family. King Charles III, William's father, also announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with cancer. The monarch is also undergoing treatment, and recently returned to lightened public-facing duties. On Tuesday, he visited a cancer center and spoke with fellow patients, where he called his diagnosis "a bit of a shock."
